Miami Nice and Hand on Miami
The Miami Nice Triathlon is set to take place this Sunday, August 29th, 2010, with courses that show off some of the most amazing views that Miami can provide. Athletes competing in the Olympic course will swim 1500 meters, bike 24.8 miles, and run 6.2 miles. The Miami Nice Triathlon not only creates awareness for recreation, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles, but it is also working with Hands on Miami and the City of Miami to plant 1,000 trees that will make Miami a better place.
For those who are not familiar with Hands on Miami, it is a community service organization that worked over 70,000 hours last year to make our community a better place to live and work. Boasting flexibly-scheduled, meaningful, direct service volunteer opportunities, the organization organizes more than 70 service opportunities each month, offering thousands of Miamians the chance to make a difference in our community. To be a part of their worthy endeavors you can come down to the Miami Nice triathlon for the Expo on Saturday and the race on Sunday. Also, visit the Hands on Miami website for more info on how to volunteer.
